Privacy
Short and plain. Written under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What I collect
Almost nothing. The web server keeps ordinary access logs — IP address, timestamp, page requested, browser string, and a referrer if your browser sent one. Those logs are rotated after fourteen days and used only for security and for working out why a page broke.
There are no analytics scripts on this site. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no TikTok pixel, no Hotjar, no Microsoft Clarity, no Sentry, no Cookiebot. No third-party fonts, no CDN, no advertising network. If you open the browser's developer tools and watch the network panel, every request goes to this domain and nowhere else.

If you came from an advertisement
You may have arrived here through a search ad or a social ad. In that case your referring URL — the ad network's redirect address — is recorded in the fourteen-day access log, exactly like any other referrer. The advertising network tracks you on its own side; I have no visibility into that and no control over it. If you want to opt out of personalised advertising, set your preferences at Google Ads Settings or AboutAds.info.
If you email the address on the Contact page, your message sits in my personal mailbox until I've replied, and then for a while afterwards in case you follow up. I don't add you to a list. I don't send a newsletter. I don't have a newsletter.
What I don't do
- Sell your data. There's nothing to sell.
- Share your email or any log line with a third party, except if a Canadian court order compels it.
- Profile visitors across sessions.
- Fingerprint browsers.
Your rights under PIPEDA
You can ask what personal information I hold about you, request a copy, or request deletion. Email the address on the Contact page and I'll answer within thirty days. If you're not satisfied with my answer you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
